1 of 66 - 2002 IMOLA RED M3/6 SPD/SLICKTOP/65k MILES For sale is my rare Imola Red/Blk M3 Coupe with 64,8XX miles. The car is a true 6 spd from the factory and was ordered with very limited options to keep the weight as low as possible. It has SUNROOF DELETE (Slicktop) option with manual seats and was ordered without Premium Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Navigation, and PDC. The only option it has is leather seats, HK sound, xenon lights and fold down rear seats… and that’s it. This is a rare optioned car with only 66 IR/Blk M3’s produced with the SUNROOF DELETE option in North America. I don’t have further breakdown but without the other options mentioned above, the number is even lower. It took me a long time to find this car, but unfortunately I have to sell it due to relocation. It’s a 3 owner car with clean Carfax history (available upon request). The car was recently inspected by a BMW certified mechanic and it does not show any signs of Vanos or subframe issues. It comes with limited maintenance records. Most recent maintenance includes, Exhaust Camshaft Sensor @ 63,126 Miles Ignition Coils, NGK Plugs, All Belts, Front/Rear brakes, Brake Fluid Flush @ 57,416 Miles. Airbag recall performed Michelin Pilot SS have approximately 5K on them. Front bumper lip has some scratch marks and there are few very minor door dings on passenger side which can be easily removed with PDR. The rear quarter window seal and the front windshield seal is dry and cracking. Other than these minor issues, the exterior is very clean. Interior is also clean with very minor wear on the front seats. No cracks for tear just normal wear on the seating surface. Rear seats are like new and doesn’t look like they’ve been used. The A/B/C pillar cloth has been removed as it was sagging and instead of ordering new pieces which will eventually sag, it’s left like that. IMO it is way better and it looks like Alcantara finish. A little history behind this fantastic roadster. In the 1990s BMW was inspired by the Miata and old British roadsters of 1950s 1960s. Thus the Z series was created starting a long line of BMW roadsters. With every standard BMW, the M Division has always made an M model of the car. In the 1990s and early 2000s the M Division was creating wild and exotic designs for their cars. One of these amazing ideas was the M roadster. Using the Z3, the M Division decided to drop a S50/52 (E36 M3) motor while using the E36 M3 and E30 M3 suspension. This vehicle also included a ZF 5 speed transmission. These cars were now called the M Roadster (E36/7) and were produced from 1998-2000. Starting in 2001 with the introduction of the E46 M3 a new inline six was designed. It was called the S54 and it is considered one of the best inline 6s created by BMW. With this new engine the M Division decided to drop the S54 and a stiffer suspension into the M roadster. They would do this from 2001-2002. After 5 years of production of the M roadster, 10,501 were made and 1,564 were made with the S54 motor. This car has been taken care of and only has been serviced by independent BMW specialists. All of the repairs during my ownership have been documented. It has a couple of aftermarket mods when I bought it. There is a short shift kit and lightweight flywheel which makes the shifting pretty quick and clean. It also has a Billy Boat exhaust system and aftermarket Alpine stereo. It also had the brakes overhauled and new Michelin Pilot sport tires put on it very recently. Has always been kept in a garage with an OEM car cover. This car was daily driven for most of my time owning but recently I do not have the time to drive it. It has been a fantastic driving machine and she has gone on some long hauls. I just want someone else to enjoy and drive this car and not just keep it in the garage all the time.
